Description

Hand-written notes (inside front cover): Inscribed May 17, 1968 by Daniel Berrigan, beginning upside down on the title page and running through two pages and the inside cover. The inscription is the original draft of the speech he made later that day at the draft board office in Catonsville, Maryland, where, with eight other activists (later known as the Catonsville Nine), he seized and burned draft records in protest of the war in Vietnam, setting off a wave of similar protests throughout the country.
