A late 17th century map of the Barbary Coast

Exploring Vincent de Paul's Mediterranean: Western Europe and the Barbar Coast, 1580-1760 is a joint exhibition of DePaul University Special Collections and Archives and the Society of Vincent de Paul Professors. This digital exhibit is an outgrowth of the original exhibit displayed in DePaul University's Special Collections and Archives Department from the October of 2013 through March 2014.

The exhibit was curated by Dr. Alex George Papadopoulos (DePaul University Dept. of Geography) and Andrew Rea (Vincentian Librarian, Special Collections and Archives), with contributions from Dr. David Gitomer (DePaul University Dept. of Religious Studies) and Dr. Warren Schultz (DePaul University Dept. of History). Exhibit support was provided by Michael Donovan (Library Image Collection Supervisor), Michelle McCoy (Bibliographic Asst., Special Collections and Archives), and Jamie Nelson (Head, Special Collections and Archives). Financial support was provided by Rev. Edward Udovic, C.M. and the DePaul University Office of Mission and Values.
